Kauai Real Estate - A Slice Of Paradise

by Ellen Gentry

When considering purchasing Kauai real estate, there are some areas that are just downright beautiful to the point that it can be hard to choose where to buy. But, depending on what type of scenery you love, you can narrow down your choices until you find that perfect spot. Here are six beautiful places in Kauai for you to enjoy:

The Alakai Wilderness Preserve: You sure wouldn't associate this place with paradise, but to many people it is. Born out of one of the earth's wettest areas, the fog-shrouded Mount Wai'ale'ale, this is an area of natural bogs that is great to explore at any time. The locals call it Alakai swamp, and it is a reserve for many rare birds and plants. Who knows - you might find an undiscovered species!

Hanalei Bay: While this is the biggest bay on the North Shore of Kauai, it's also one of the most beautiful beaches to be found anywhere. Hanalei's soft sandy beaches are surrounded by beautiful green mountains making it a picture perfect place to call home. And, for those that love the convenience of a town close by, the quaint town of Hanalei sits right in the middle of the bay.

Ke'e Beach: This is the ideal area for a vacation home. It offers some the best unspoiled real estate on the island, and if you have children and love swimming and snorkeling, then this is about the best Kauai real estate you could purchase. The water is clear and quiet, with few currents and next to no waves. The climate is fabulous here on the Na Pali coastline, and you couldn't ask for more if you want solitude and peace away from the city. There is some great land around here to buy for a fabulous vacation home.

Limahuli Garden and Preserve: For any outdoors person who loves hiking and some breathtaking natural views, this preserve is where you want to be. You'll find that it lives up to the awards that it has won - such as the best natural botanical garden in the US - and you won't want to miss anything here when you hike. There are residential areas nearby that have homes and vacant land you can purchase from which to enjoy the views and wonders of Limahuli Gardens.

Wailua River State Park: This park offers some of the most sought after Kauai real estate because of its astounding natural beauty. The scenery here is breathtaking, the main feature being the astounding Opaeka'a Falls, with a drop of 150 feet. The homes here surround the park, and the activities are mainly outdoor, including water sports such as Kayaking and canoeing. You will go a long way to find better scenery and a better range of river activities to enjoy.

Waimea Canyon State Park: No matter if you love the Grand Canyon or not, you will love Waimea Canyon. Made by a massive volcano, the canyon was formed from runoff water over millions of years. The best part is that the canyon is beautifully green year round, so you can always enjoy the breathtaking views, no matter which area of the canyon you are on.

So there you are. The six most attractive sites offering Kauai real estate that you could find. Perhaps they don't suit you, but you will look far and hard to find anywhere offering the same degree of natural beauty anywhere in the world.
